Social Security Disability

The Social Security Administration provides benefits to people who have been injured or suffer from a severe disability. If you or a member of your family suffers from a disability that will keep you from working for at least twelve months, you may be entitled to social security disability benefits.

Obtaining social security benefits is time consuming and complicated. Many applicants are initially denied benefits. If your initial social security disability claim is denied, you have the right to an appeal.

In Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee, we can help you navigate the social security disability claims process (including all appeals) to ensure you get the benefits to which you are entitled.

To be considered disabled under the Social Security Disability Rules, you must have a disabling injury, impairment or condition, either physical or psychological. Social security disability benefits can be awarded if you have a physical or mental impairment which would be expected to prevent work for a period of 12 months or longer. This includes work done by you within the last 15 years and work you might otherwise be qualified for. You can be considered disabled if you cannot perform the work you did before you became disabled and if it is determined that you cannot adjust to other work due to your disability.

Proving a physical or mental disability, or both, is a difficult task but for someone with a disability, it can be overwhelming. We understand this process and what can be done to help you get the benefits you deserve.

If you live in East Tennessee or Southwest Virginia and believe you may be entitled to social security disability benefits, please contact us today. We offer free consultations. We will evaluate your claim, and if you are eligible, we will help you through the claims process.

Testimonials

Greg Herrell is a smart lawyer. He spent a lot of time on my case. He had his doubts about getting my social security, but he stood by me. I really liked him. I got a lot going on, but I am sure if I need him again he would be there. I hope god blesses him and all lawyers. How to take time with someone like me. Thank you.
